Houston Rockets center Yao Ming expects to play in the season opener and is very excited to be back on the court.
Yao is much more upbeat from just a month or so ago when he said he didn’t know how effective he could be this year.
Doctors have cleared Yao, saying his surgically repaired foot is fully healed, which may have given him a confidence boost.
He said he is less afraid to test his foot than he was a couple of months ago, which is definitely all about having confidence in it. (more…)

Madea has been in films, on television and even in a book, but this September, she’s coming to the Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets.
It’s been 5 years since Tyler Perry’s famous character Madea has been on the stage for “Madea Goes To Jail.” Now, she’s back with the whole gang for “Madea’s Big Happy Family” on Sept. 18 and 19!
Just like Perry’s past works–Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea’s Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, Madea Goes to Jail and I Can Do Bad All By Myself–this one is a mix of stand-up comedy, drama and a church revival. The plot centers around Shirley, Madea’s close friend, who is dying of cancer. She needs to gather her five adult children (and their families), but there’s too much standing in the way for everyone to get together!
Before Madea moves into the Toyota Center, it will host the Carnival of Madness, with performances from Shinedown, Chevelle, Puddle of Mud and Sevendust. Check back soon, because there’s always something going on at the Toyota Center!
